Williams becomes the club's second loan exit of the window after Calvin Ramsay was sent out on an interim spell with Preston North End in the EFL Championship.
"Liverpool defender Rhys Williams has joined Aberdeen on a season-long loan," statement on the club's official website read.
"The 22-year-old will spend the 2023-24 campaign with the Scottish Premiership outfit after finalising a temporary switch on Wednesday.
"Williams has been with the Reds since U10 level and gone on to make 19 senior appearances – all of which came in 2020-21 as he helped Jürgen Klopp's side secure Champions League qualification.
"He spent the first half of last season on loan with Blackpool and has also had stints at Kidderminster Harriers and Swansea City.
"Williams' development will now continue at Aberdeen, who finished third in the league in 2022-23 and signed Leighton Clarkson on a permanent transfer from Liverpool earlier this month."
