Argentine midfielder Junior Leandro Mendieta will enter the Mamelodi Sundowns pay structures with a blockbuster deal that will immediately elevate him to the top tier of earners at the club.
Mendieta has been linked with a move away from Stellenbosch since the beginning of the year and now since sealed a deal to Sundowns.

There was also interest from Kaizer Chiefs.
Mendieta had 19 goal contributions (10 goals and nine assists) in 31 appearances last season in what was a standout campaign for him.
The 30-year-old has spent three years in the Cape Winelands but the power of money from Sundowns has left him with no choice but to pack up and head up to Gauteng.
In moving to Chloorkop, Mendieta has signed a three-year deal that immediately pushes him into the top tier of earners at the club.
The deal will guarantee Mendieta a heavy signing-on fee plus a six-figure salary with extra bonuses that will be earned with appearances, goals, and assists along the way.
Mendieta's package will factor in flight tickets back home to Argentina and stretch his stay to five years which will then make him eligible for South African permanent residence.
This is the biggest contract that Mendieta has ever had in his career that has seen him play for Deportivo Moron, Atletico Lanus, Atletico Los Andes, and Atletico de Rafaela (all in Argentina).
Mendieta is already in Gauteng.
In his arrival at Chloorkop, Mendieta will feel at home in the sense that there are other Spanish-speaking South Americans in Gaston Sirino (Uruguay), Marcelo Allende (Chile), and Erwin Saavedra (Bolivia).
