Mane now 'open' to shock move

Just one season after making the big move to Bayern Munich and having previously insisted otherwise, Sadio Mane is now reportedly considering a shock exit from Germany.

The Senegal forward, who finished second in the 2022 Ballon d'Or voting, surprised many when he decided to leave Liverpool and secure himself a massive transfer to the German giants in July last year.

The 31-year-old was tipped to fill the Robert Lewandowski-sized hole in the Bavarians' squad, and while the west African did have a great start to life at the Allianz Arena, he has seen a massive downturn in form in 2023.

That dip in form, coupled with reported verbal and physical altercations in the Bayern dressing room, is believed to have led the club to come to the decision to transfer-list the 2018/19 Premier League Golden Boot winner.

The 34-time German champions are understood to be keen on cashing in on one of their more recent marquee signings, but it is believed they have not yet received any concrete offers for Mane, who has previously insisted that he wants to stay at Bayern next season.

Now, per both Sky Sports Germany and transfer expert Fabrizio Romano, three teams in Saudi Arabia are interested in signing the 2021 Africa Cup of Nations winner, and according to Italian journalist Rudy Galetti, Mane is "evaluating" a move to the Middle East.

Pitso Mosimane's former side Al Ahli are believed to be the club that retains the strongest interest in the former Southampton star, with it said that they want to reunite him with ex-Reds attacker Roberto Firmino, who completed his move to the same team on Tuesday night.
