Kwame Peprah joins European club... and scores!

Following a discreet exit from Soweto giants Orlando Pirates, striker Kwame Peprah scored on debut for his new side after securing a surprise move to a European club.

Peprah has joined Israeli outfit Hapoel Hadera in a permanent transfer on a one-year deal with an additional option to a further year, bringing an end to an indifferent stay in South Africa.

Surprisingly, the Buccaneers have not as yet made an official announcement to note the Ghanaian's exit from the club.

A source within the player's camp has confirmed to KickOff the attacker's move to Europe as he aims to now rebuild his football career after a short loan stint at Maritzburg United as his most recent team.

The 22-year-old made his debut in his side's latest Toto Cup Ligat Al clash on Sunday and also found the back of the net in the 93rd minute.

The goal proved to be a consolation as Hadera lost 2-1 to Bnei Sakhnin FC following earlier goals from Basil Khuri and Sahar Tagi.

Peprah has been widely linked with an exit from Orlando Pirates since Jose Riveiro's reign began as the Spanish manager has preferred to use other forwards ahead of the Ghanaian.

The Ghanaian was the club's top goalscorer in the 2021/22 season but that was not enough to persuade Riveiro that he was a player worth keeping.

Peprah spent the last half of the 2022/23 campaign on loan with Maritzburg United where he was only able to score once in 14 appearances and could not help the Team of Choice avoid relegation.
