Mamelodi Sundowns maintained their perfect start to the DStv Premiership season with a 2-0 win over Chippa United on Saturday night.
Lucas Ribeiro Costa and Aubrey Modiba were recalled by Masandawana following the emphatic midweek win over Golden Arrows.
Teboho Mokoena looked to find the opener for the home side with a smart volley from way out, but he only managed to draw a save out of Chippa goalkeeper Stanley Nwabili.
Chippa were cut open ten minutes to halftime when Themba Zwane threaded in a through ball around the near post of the area for Modiba to nudge past a flat-footed Nwabili.
It got worse for the Chilli Boys after their encouraged start as Justice Chabalala executed a clearance only to see the ball end into his own net in the closing minutes of the half.
Masandawana nearly got a third goal on the stroke of halftime when Ribeiro Costa's powerful free-kick outside the area nestled against the upright.
At the other end, Chippa were denied a route back as Ronwen Williams produced a remarkable stop to deny Ronaldo Maarman before courting a galloping header from Chabalala.
There were no substitutions made at the start of the second half, with Masandawana eager to maintain their dominance as Grant Kekana's rasping volley resulted in a goal-line clearance.
Chippa looked for a bit of momentum in possession as well as forward areas, but struggled to remain calm and go beyond the Brazilians.
Two changes from the Brazilians followed where Argentine Junior Mendieta and Neo Maema entered from the bench before Modiba headed a delivery from a free-kick wide of the mark.
In the end, Sundowns contained the closing seconds to run out victors and continue sitting pretty at the top of the table with four straight wins.
