Chelsea eyeing 'shock move' for Arsenal star

Chelsea are reportedly eyeing a move for a certain Arsenal star to bolster their attack this season.

The Blues have been the biggest spenders in the transfer window so far and have already broken the transfer record to sign Moises Caicedo from Brighton and Hove Albion.

Eight players have been signed but they are still without a recognised number nine as Romelu Lukaku is not in Mauricio Pochettino's plans for the campaign.

As a result, the club have now seemingly turned their attention to Arsenal striker Folarin Balogun.

The United States international had an impressive loan spell at Reims last season after scoring 22 goals across all competitions.

The Daily Mail have reported that the Blues have held talks with their London rivals over a potential deal for the 22-year-old striker.

Balogun featured for Mikel Arteta's side in pre-season but played no part of  their Premier League opener against Nottingham Forest at the Emirates Stadium.

The reports add that Chelsea face competition from fellow Premier League side Fulham, who are looking to replace Aleksandar Mitrovic who secured a move to Saudi Pro League side Al-Hilal.

Fulham are reportedly only willing to go as high as £35million, but it remains to be seen how much the Gunners will in return for the USA striker.
