Greenwood already linked with FIVE clubs

With Manchester United having confirmed they will be parting ways with Mason Greenwood, five clubs are now reportedly keen to sign the striker.

The Greenwood saga finally reached its conclusion on Monday afternoon, when United confirmed that they had decided with the player that he would no longer continue his career at the club after the charges of attempted rape, assault occasioning bodily harm, and controlling and coercive behaviour against him were dropped by the Crown Prosecution Service in February this year.

With the club having undertaken an extensive investigation spanning more than six months into the matter, the 21-year-old has since apologised for his actions and admitted that he did not want to be a distraction for the club, with his future now lying elsewhere.

According to reports, the player is unlikely to join another Premier League team and is expected to make a fresh start outside his native country, with interest from Italy and Turkey having already emerged.

According to 90Min, Serie A sides AS Roma, Atalanta and Inter Milan are all interested in snapping Greenwood up, while French outfit AS Monaco and Saudi side Al Ettifaq are also reportedly considering making a move for the forward.

The aforementioned outlet's transfer correspondent Graeme Baily said: "90min understands that United would prefer to sell Greenwood because his homegrown player status would provide a huge boost when it comes to Financial Fair Play calculations.

"But the teams that have shown an interest in Greenwood are more geared towards offering a loan deal as it stands, especially those based in Europe."
