Real Madrid lining up shock move for another England star?

Having signed Jude Bellingham last month, Real Madrid have now reportedly set their sights on another England star.

According to the Daily Mirror, Los Blancos have renewed their interest in English right-back Reece James, whom they see as a long-term replacement for Dani Carvajal, and are plotting to bring the Chelsea captain to the Santiago Bernabeu.

It is further claimed that the Spaniards are planning to make a move for the Three Lions star at the end of this season.

However, while the LALIGA giants are long-time admirers of James, the 23-year-old is understood to be happy in London after recently being handed the captain's armband by new Blues manager Mauricio Pochettino.

The fullback has struggled with injuries recently, missing a large portion of last season as Chelsea slouched to a lowly 12th position in the 2022/23 Premier League campaign.

James would have been hoping to put his injury worries aside in this campaign, but suffered a hamstring injury in training that could see him miss another month of football.

Despite this, Real Madrid reportedly remain determined to add him to their ranks after signing Jude Bellingham from Borussia Dortmund for an initial fee of £88.5 million (R2 billion) earlier in the transfer window.
