Ittihad coach addresses 'rift' with Benzema

Ittihad Jeddah manager Nuno Espírito Santo has addressed claims there is a rift with striker Karim Benzema.

The former Real Madrid striker bagged his first goals on Thursday night as Ittihad thrashed Al-Riyadh in the Saudi Pro League.

There were reports that Santo was not happy with Benzema as he doesn't fit the style of football he wants to play while he was also reluctant to give the Frenchman the armband.

"My relationship with all the players is good, and I am happy to have Karim Benzema with us, and he is happy to be with us," Santo said, as per KingFut.

When asked about the issue surrounding the captaincy, he replied "I do not know who the captain will be in the upcoming game, as I do not know who will continue with the team and who will start as a regular.

"When I know, I will designate the captain."
