The news outlet reports that Bayern coach Thomas Tuchel has demanded that his club sign a player who can fill the "holding six" position, having complained that he has too few player for this role.

McTominay, who has made two brief substitute appearances in United's 2023/24 Premier League campaign thus far, is reportedly Tuchel's preferred candidate to fill the spot at the Allianz Arena.

The Scotsman was linked with a move to West Ham United earlier in the window, but there was reportedly a gap between United's valuation of the player and what the Hammers were willing to pay for his signature.

Bild further reports that in order for Bayern to make a loan deal for McTominay happen, the Bundesliga champions are considering offering Gravenberch to United for the season.

The Dutchman made only three starts in his debut campaign for Bayern, and having recorded just nine minutes of top-flight football under his belt so far this season, he is said to want more guaranteed football in the campaign ahead.
