Jude Bellingham scored for the fourth straight for Real Madrid, who rallied from behind to secure a 2-1 win over Getafe on Saturday evening.
Veteran midfielder Luka Modric was recalled to the Los Blancos line-up in place of Federico Valverde, while Carlo Ancelotti handed striker Joselu his first start of the season.
Getafe silenced the home crowd in the 11th minute as a mix-up at the back saw Borja Mayoral pounce and to go through on goal and calmly slot home against his former team.
The home side were awarded a penalty at the midway point for an apparent foul on Jude Bellingham, but the referee changed his mind after checking the Video Assistant Referee (VAR) monitor.
Getafe goalkeeper David Soria ensured the away side went into the halftime break leading after pulling off two superb saves in the space of five minutes to keep out Modric and Joselu.
Los Blancos were back on level terms two minutes after the break when Modric's cross found Joselu, who sent a composed finish beyond Soria, with VAR approving the strike.
The woodwork came to Getafe's rescue after 54 minutes when Toni Kroos picked up a loose ball and unleashed a strike that cannoned off the post with Soria well beaten on the line.
Soria was proving to be the difference on the day as he produced yet another fine save to keep out Joselu's towering header, just minutes after Dani Carvajal was denied by the woodwork.
The Getafe goalkeeper was breached yet again in second half stoppage time when he parried Lucas Vazquez's shot into the path of Bellingham, who made no mistake from close range to seal a fourth straight win.
