NEW: Jadon Sancho 'close' to joining another club

After his public spat with Erik ten Hag, exiled Manchester United winger Jadon Sancho is now reportedly on the verge of leaving the club and joining a new team.

The 23-year-old looks to be determined to manoeuvre his way out of Old Trafford in January, with Sky Germany reporting that the winger has been in regular contact with Borussia Dortmund manager Edin Terzic in recent weeks, and is now close to securing a loan exit from the Red Devils.

The England international has been embroiled in an ongoing saga with his current boss that first began a few weeks ago when he was dropped from the matchday squad that suffered a 3-1 defeat to Arsenal.

Ten Hag cited Sancho's poor performances in training as the reason he had been left out, but the player hit back on social media, claiming that he was being made a scapegoat.

The former Dortmund star has since been banned from all first-team activities and has been training with the club's academy sides.

It is also believed that he will continue to be excluded unless he apologises to Ten Hag.

Reports suggest that Sancho has no intention of caving in, though, and is instead planning a return to Germany, where he scored 50 goals and amassed a further 64 assists in 137 games for BVB before making the £72.9 million (R1.7 billion) switch to Manchester in 2021, with it believed a loan move in January is the player's only solution to the saga.

"The thing will definitely be finished in the winter. He wants to leave and there is a possibility of a loan because a sale is too expensive for many interested parties," transfer expert Florian Plettenberg told Sky Sports

"He is in regular contact with Terzic and this Dortmund issue will continue."

Before his banishment, Sancho struggled to replicate the form he showed in Germany, managing just 12 goals and six assists in 82 appearances as he failed to secure a regular starting spot in the side's strongest XI.
