'Every player told Sir Alex to f*** off... just once!'

It has now surprisingly been claimed that "every player told Sir Alex Ferguson to f*** off at least once" during the legendary manager's lengthy tenure at Manchester United.

Ferguson remains arguably the greatest manager in Premier League history, with his spell at Old Trafford beginning all the way back in 1986 and lasting up until 2013, when he announced his retirement from the dugout.

During his lengthy tenure, the 81-year-old won 38 trophies, including 13 EPL titles – the most by any manager to date.

Known for a having a fiery personality at times, a lot of tales have been told about the Scotsman's temper, with one of his most high-profile sagas being his dressing-room bust-up with then-player David Beckham.

The now-Inter Miami co-owner has spoken openly about the infamous boot incident, which left him with a cut near his eye after Ferguson kicked a boot at him.

Discussing the heated moment in a new Netflix documentary titled Beckham, the ex-Real Madrid winger explained: "We walked in the changing room and the boss is fuming. I can see it by his face. And when you see the boss' face like this, you don't want to be anywhere near him. It is a face that no one can do, trust me.

"... I went back at the boss and said 'no' [that he didn't make a mistake] and then I swore. I said the F word. And then I saw him change, and I was like, 's***, I really shouldn't have said that'. I think I said the F word too many times."

Following a brief exchange with Ferguson, the manager then proceeded to kick Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's boot and it hit Beckham in the face, causing him to bleed. This sparked a furious reaction from the now-48-year-old, revealing that: "I went at him – someone had to hold me back."

However, although the incident caused quite a stir in the media and in the dressing room at the time, another player who was in the room, Gary Neville, surprisingly revealed that Beckham was not the only player to have uttered the F word at Ferguson despite his scary demeanor.

"We all did it once. Every player that was with Sir Alex for a long time told him to f**k off once," Neville said during the documentary.

"And you didn't do it again!"

While that incident took place 20 years ago, fallouts between managers and players at Old Trafford evidently still occur, with current Red Devils boss Erik ten Hag embroiled in an ongoing conflict with winger Jadon Sancho.

Similar to Beckham in 2003, there are now reports that Sancho could be set for an acrimonious early exit from the Theatre of Dreams due to the public comments he made about Ten Hag last month, claiming that he was being used a scapegoat for United's early-season struggles.
