Ronaldo 'informs' Al Nassr of major career decision

Cristiano Ronaldo reportedly informed Al Nassr of a major career decision before joining up with Portugal for the international break.

It has been 10 months since the 38-year-old joined the Riyadh giants after leaving Manchester United as a free agent prior to the start of the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar in November 2022.

Despite missing out on the Saudi Pro League title last season, the striker has already got his hands on his first piece of silverware with Al Nassr, having won the Arab Club Champions Cup in August.

The five-time Ballon d'Or winner has maintained that he is happy with his decision to leave Europe for Saudi Arabia and help grow the country's footballing profile, with many big-name arrivals having since followed in his footsteps.

Moreover, Brazil superstar Neymar has also admitted that Ronaldo deserves credit for making the Saudi Pro League a more attractive prospect for other high-profile players, with the Selecao talisman having traded French champions Paris Saint-Germain for Al Hilal in the latest transfer window.

Now, according to a number of reports, Ronaldo wants his Saudi fairy-tale to continue, and is looking to extend his stay at Al Nassr beyond its current expiry date of June 2025.

According to Saudi journalist Ali Al-Harbi, the Real Madrid legend has informed Al Nassr that he wants to extend his contract until the start of 2027 before he left the club to join up with the Portugal squad for international duty.
