Real star 'switches' international allegiance to African giants

A Real Madrid star has reportedly switched his international allegiance to play for one of Africa's biggest nations.

Brahim Diaz has represented Spain at levels of international, which includes one appearance for the senior side in 2021.

Despite starring for AC Milan in the last couple years, Diaz has not been a regular since getting his first call-up.

It seems the 24-year-old has now had a change of heart and is reportedly keen on representing Morocco.

Marca reported that the process is already underway to make the international allegiance switch, with the player hoping to make the squad for the Africa Cup of Nations.

Meanhile, Spain head coach Luis de la Fuente admitted he is unaware of the Los Blancos midfielder wanting to change nationalities.

"As far as I know, Brahim wants to play for Spain. Nobody has told me anything that would make me think otherwise," De La Fuente said, as per Madrid Universe.

Players with dual national are allowed to switch national teams as long as they have not represented one team more than three teams before they turn 21-years-old.
