Thapelo Matlhoko is understood to have peaked the interest of Amakhosi after his performances in the Motsepe Foundation Championship.
It is believed that the 22-year-old would be a good fit at Naturena, with Chiefs looking at a new striking force for next season.
"He is one of the strikers they are looking at. They are believed to have enquired about him and they would like to have him as one of their players next season. The club is still looking at the possibility of signing different strikers to add to th team and Thapelo (Matlhoko) is one of them," a source informed KickOff.com.
As previously reported, Nasreddine Nabi is an advocate for mixing experience with youth.
"Yes, there are other experienced players that the club is looking at in the striking department but they are also looking at the young strikers who can play and learn from the senior experienced strikers at the same time. That's why they are targeting strikers like Fiston Mayele as well as Thapelo Matlohoko," the source added.
Matlhoko has so far played 20 games for Kruger, scoring on four occasions.
KickOff reached out to Chiefs for comment but there was response at the time of publishing.
