England secured their place at 2024 European Championship with a come-from-behind 3-1 victory over Italy on Tuesday evening.
Manchester City's Kalvin Phillips earned a recall, as Harry Kane and Jude Bellingham headlined the Three Lions line-up as they looked to silence the reigning European champions.
In a repeat of the continental final two years at the same venue, the English were on the back-foot on 15 minutes after Gianluca Scamacca fired into the roof the net following a reverse pass to the area.
Scamacca quickly looked for a second goal minutes gone from a snap-shot after managing a yard of space in the box, but he sent his effort well wide of target.
England were back on level terms when a foul on the half-hour mark saw Bellingham win a penalty and granted captain Kane to step forward to beat Gianluigi Donnarumma.
The Azzurri came close to go back ahead though inside halftime as Destiny Udogie produced clever bit of play to the area and worked England goalkeeper Jordan Pickford before Davide Frattesi turned over thereafter.
With the second half, the Three Lions showed a lot of courage and very nearly took the lead when Phil Foden's teasing lay-off allowed Phillips to step in and send over.
England went ahead on 56 minutes when a swift counter-attack saw Bellingham embark on a fine before picking out Marcus Rashford to cut-in from the far side to find the bottom-corner.
Italy were breached once again in the final 15 minutes as a poor clearance saw Kane beat substitute Alessandro Bastoni to go clear and beat Donnarumma to complete his brace.
The Three Lions' lead was in no danger in the closing exchanges, as they claimed the win to qualify for next year's tournament.
