OFFICIAL: Real Madrid break silence on Mbappe reports

Spanish giants Real Madrid have officially responded to reports claiming they are in talks with Kylian Mbappe.

Los Blancos has been linked with a move for the World Cup winner for the last couple seasons now, with club president Florentino Perez seeing him as a long-term target.

While the Spanish club did not mention which publication made the report, the have now released a statement claiming they are not in talks to sign the French forward.

"In the face of news stories broadcast and published by various media, which speculate about supposed negotiations between the player Kylian Mbappé and our club."

"Real Madrid want to state that these stories are absolutely false and said negotiations, with a player who belongs to PSG, have not taken place," the statement read.

Mbappe is in the final year of his contract with the French champions, but it remains to be seen if he will reverse his initial decision not to sign an extension when the season concludes.

The French forward was frozen out by the first team in pre-season due to the fact that he would not be signing a new contract.

After the first two Ligue 1 games, Mbappe was brought back into the side and has since scored 12 goals across all competitions.
