Sekhukhune United interim coach MacDonald Makhubedu has called on a former Kaizer Chiefs star to help improve the club's struggles in front of goal.
Makhubedu is charge on a temporary basis following reports of Brandon Truter's departure earlier this week.
Makhubedu conceded that perhaps they were punished for opening up the game towards the end after they were compact for the majority of the game.
"It was tough, two good teams, we tried out best. We tried everything, we tried to add more numbers upfront, we brought in attackers," Makhubedu told SuperSport TV.
"I think when we added a second nine in (Thabo) Mosadi, as a ten and a nine to help (Chibuike) Ohizu and also Tiklas (Thutlwa), we wanted to catch them with speed but I think we opened up a little bit because we saw a chance of stealing three points or maybe going home with a point.
"So we added more numbers upfront because we did not want to sit back. But they got that goal with combination play. I think we were a little bit deep or we back-pedalled too much," he said.
The former Baroka assistant coach went on to say that he and Collins Mbesuma, the striker coach, will work on improving their finishing.
"My two centre-backs, there was a lack of communication, them and the full-backs. (Siphosakhe) Ntiya-Ntiya I can't fault him, he's a good player. He came in the tempo was high," he continued.
"He did well in possession, when we had the ball but I still think there we could've done better with the goal. Typical Pirates goal, combination, getting inside the box with numbers.
"But I think we did well. We have been playing better the last four, five games. We were like this, we just can't score, I don't know what's the problem," he said.
"We gonna work on it. Our striker coach, Collins Mbesuma, we have to work on that because we're not scoring.
"The last few games we've been dominating teams but we're not scoring but it's just a matter of that we also get lucky. I think we'll do better next time."
