Professional soccer stars naturally amass a huge following, and that opens up the opportunity for them to make major cash with just one Instagram post.
Sometimes popular brands will pay an influential social media user or content creator to spread the word about their product or their company at large and footballers just happen to be very influential.

A study by Japan 101. cited by The Sun, highlighted some world-renowned players and the money they could make from using their large social media platform to advertise, and maybe make a few extra bucks to put aside for a rainy day.
Among the players who had the highest chances of earning the most money were PSG superstar Kylian Mbappe, Spain international Sergio Ramos, and former Manchester United midfielder Paul Pogba.
Pogba is the third-highest potential earner on the list.
The 30-year-old future may be clouded with plenty of confusion and uncertainty but based on the study he need not worry about his financial situation as he could make over a whopping £50 000 (R1.1 million) for a sponsored post with his following of 61 million users.
Putting his recent trials and tribulations aside, the Frenchman has represented two of the biggest clubs in the world — Man United and Juventus — and his playing style and ability have captured the hearts of many fans over the years, helping him build himself into a brand.
Second on the list is Sevilla star Sergio Ramos. The Spaniard made the move back to the club his professional career started at earlier this year, after his two-year stint at PSG came to an end. The move, however, did not dent his popularity in the slightest.
He boasts a following of 61.2 million users and that has put him in a position where he could potentially earn over £48 200 (R1 million) per post.
Mbappe is the highest potential earner on the list. At the tender age of 24, the France international has built himself into one of the game's most influential figures because of his performances on the pitch. He is a World Cup winner who has so far in his club career netted 259 goals in 340 professional appearances.
Off the pitch, he can make £76 465 (R1.7 million) per sponsored post because of his gigantic following that comprises of of a whopping 110 million followers.
