With Orlando Pirates deciding to suspend attacker Thembinkosi Lorch on Wednesday, KickOff readers gave their reactions to the club's conclusion with some agreeing with the decision and others saying it wasn't harsh enough.
What's the story?
After being found guilty of assault, the Soweto club announced Lorch's suspension "from all club activities" on Wednesday as a disciplinary hearing remains pending.
The player was initially arrested in 2020 and on Tuesday, he was handed a suspended three-year prison sentence while being fined R100 000 after being found guilty of of "assault with intent to cause grievous bodily harm" in July.
This is what the KO fans on Facebook had to say about the matter:
"That's double standard. They didn't have to await the outcome of the court to do that.. totally unfair or else there is something they wanna clear somehow," says Aubrey Rangaka
"I'm trying to figure out what's the logic behind his suspension," said Siyabonga Biyela
"Siyabonga Biyela As long as its the Policy n rules of soccer Players. Let's respect the Constitution of the PSL. PSL must applied its rules without fear ", favour or 'Projudice. Rules are rules must be applied to any one," said Matties Cold in reply.
"Respect Football at all times. It's not a first time this happens but the players don't want to behave themselves and respect the game," says Asanda Nomkala.
"That is not good enough, according to me it's useless, they were supposed to suspended him the time he was found guilty before he was sentenced, they are doing this just to try to look like they are doing something, I don't buy it," says Samuel Motsai.
"Publicity stunt! What's the point now? Why wait until sentencing. This is tantamount to double jeopardy! However it serves him right! #StopGBV#StopViolenceAgainstWomen," wrote Collin Sandile Kansas Khathi.
"I am a Sundowns supporter through and through. I am a father of a girl child and I am also a father of two beautiful sometimes stupid or making wrong decisions two boys like their father. I wish and pray that my daughter be protected against all ills of this world. Nonetheless I wish my boys could be judged fairly. Lorch is still young, he doesn't deserve to be destroyed. He will learn like every body else," says Shadrack Magatikele.
"Mxm it's just procedure they won't do anything," says Msasazi Bangiso.

KO followers on Facebook also shared their opinions on a Cairo-based Seven Eleven's Amr Hosni who said that Al Ahly fans were angered by the continental success of Mamelodi Sundowns.
The Brazilians overcame the Egyptian giants over a two-legged final to claim the inaugural African Football League trophy earlier this month.
"Ahly are used to being trendsetters and if it wasn't Sundowns, they would have won the AFL, so this is what hurts them," Hosni said. "Ahly have not beaten Sundowns in the last seven games so you can understand how much of a threat Sundowns has become to Ahly which is something that their fans hate."
While some praised Masandawana for their continental successes, others said that the club also makes supporters in South Africa angry!
Take a look at what the KO fans had to say:
"You don't have to go to Egypt to meet angry fans, we have an angry lot right here in South Africa," says Muzi Ndiphiwe.
"Downs is very successful their beauty is felt by the so called the Soweto giants and spilt over to our beyond borders," says Ditiro Seerane.
"How I wish Chiefs and Pirates can up their game and join Downs in delivering chest pains across Africa," says Nkosinathi Nonxoloba.
"Even in South Africa we have angry facilities department," says Mbuli Lindani.
"Al Ahly must accept that Sundowns is better than their team cause that was not the first time Sundowns won against their team," says Noluthando Kaboyellow Sandawana Nqoko.
"I'm not surprised, change is not an easy thing," said Mlungisi Zondi, "As for Downs being hated, it's a norm if a new king takes over, not easy for the former and his crew to accept."
"They thought Africa owes them glory in every competition they participate on. This is just the beginning," says Mukoma Sha Mukoma.
"The same is happening with chiefs fans," says Vusi Vus-Cavo Thubane.
"Not only them. We have plenty in this country and they are blinded by envy. They even celebrated Rwanda's win over Bafana-Bafana just because of Mudaus silly mistake, They won't win any cup including plastic ones until they purify their hearts and stop witchcraft called umona," says Cromwell Mtha Majavu.
"11 time African champions angry about 1 time boardroom winners? Stop overhyping our football's mediocre achievements. It's arrogant as if "we've arrived". We have a loooooong way to go we've achieved nothing yet," says Ntando Majola.
