Having received a major ban from FIFA on Thursday, one of Africa's biggest clubs has now provided an official response to the matter.
Tanzanian club Simba SC, who were one of the eight clubs that took part in the inaugural African Football League, are now unable to make any new signings after they lost a civil case to Senegalese club Teungueth over the signing of winger Pape Ousmane Sakho

The Tanzania Football Federation confirmed on Thursday that FIFA has banned the side from making any international transfers, and also banned the Reds of Msimbazi from making any local transfers until it pays the demands made by Teungueth.
Simba, who initially purchased Sakho from the Senegalese side in August 2021, missed the 45-day window to complete a payment owed to Teungueth upon the sale of the player, who joined Ligue 2 side Quevilly Rouen Metropole in August.
The Tanzanian club has, however, since confirmed that it is in the process of honouring the payment.
"The Simba club would like to inform the public that it sold the player Pape Ousmane Sakho to the French club Quevilly Roven Metropole in August 2023," a statement from the Tanzanian side reads.
"The payment agreement is in two phases. The first phase payment (50%) was paid on October 2, 2023. The Lions Club was waiting for the second phase to pay 15% of the sales to the Senegalese Teungueth club.
"Club of Simba admits that there was no communication with Teungueth's club of Senegal that led to this issue.
"However, the Lions Club would like to inform the public that it is in the process of completing the payment soon.
"Club of Simba will continue to respect the rules, regulations and procedures of football as it has been doing."
