UCL club 'ready' to move for Greenwood

A UEFA Champions League club is now reportedly ready to make a move for controversial Manchester United star Mason Greenwood.

The one-time England international is on the radar of several Spanish clubs, with the frontrunners for his signature being UCL side Real Sociedad as well as Valencia CF, according to Fichajes

The Getafe loanee has made a bright start to life in Spain, scoring four goals and accumulating three assists in 11 appearances so far to help Los Azulones climb to eighth place on the LALIGA table.

As a result of his standout performances, the forward is said to have attracted the attention of other clubs in the league who are looking to sign him on a permanent basis.

Sociedad, who have had a good UCL campaign this season going unbeaten in their five group games so far to already secure qualification to the round of 16, are believed to be determined to capture the 22-year-old's services at the end of the season.

The Guipuzcoa-based side is, however, not the only club vying for the Englishman's signature, with Valencia are also reported to be looking to sign the player at the end of the current campaign, while Getafe themselves want him permanently too.

The two clubs will seemingly have an advantage over teams from other part of the globe as Greenwood is said to be happy in Spain, and is thus leaning towards a move to a Spanish team next.

Given United's confirmation that the forward will not be continuing his career at Old Trafford after he was arrested on charges of attempted rape, assault, and coercive behaviour in 2022, the Spanish suitors are believed to have another advantage on that front.

It is also understood, though, that a number of Premier League sides have been keeping a close eye on the England international's progress in LALIGA, so it remains to be seen where he will be playing his football next season.
