Polokwane City's key player attracts interest

Two DStv Premiership clubs have entered the race to sign Polokwane City defender Thabang Matuludi in the January transfer window.

The right back, who has made 16 appearances in the league, is attracting interest from Cape Town City.

Matuludi is also on the wanted list of Stellenbosch FC who have also expressed their interest in bringing him to Cape Town this season.

The 24-year-old defender has appeared in all Rise and Shine DStv premiership league games this season and has scored one goal to his credit.

According to a source close to Polokwane City, the club is willing to sell Matuludi but on a few conditions.

"The club is aware of the interest but has not received any official offer," said an unnamed source

"The club is willing to sell the player but provided they receive a good offer."

Polokwane City is trying to hold on to midfielder Oswin Appollis after attracting interest from Gauteng.

Before the New Year, Appollis missed the last league match against Mamelodi Sundowns.

"Appollis is not in the team. He is going to the national team," Polokwane City coach Phuti Mohafe told journalists.

"He is going to the Afcon. So we said let's give him rest.

"We gave him rest so that he can go to the national team fresh".

"It was a club decision. Appolis has a contract with Polokwane City and he is still with the team."
