OFFICIAL: EPL star seals move to German giants

A Premier League star is now confirmed to have joined Harry Kane in the Bundesliga.

England international Eric Dier has officially signed for German giants Bayern Munich from Tottenham Hotspur on a permanent deal for a reported fee of around €4 million (R81 million).

Dier has been an influential figure for Spurs since joining the North London club from Sporting CP in 2014, making 364 appearances for the Lilywhites in all competitions.

By the end of the 2022/23 campaign, Dier would make 42 appearances for his former club. This season, however, he seemed to have fallen out of favour under new manager Ange Postecoglou. He managed to make just four league appearances this term.

Now, the 29-year-old has the opportunity to make a fresh start with the reigning Bundesliga champions under manager Thomas Tuchel who is believed to be a big admirer of the player.

The defender joins the Bavarians on deal that runs until the end of the season with an option to extend for one more year.

"This move is a dream come true for me, because as a child you want to play for a club like Bayern one day," Dier told the club's official website.

"Bayern is one of the biggest clubs in the world and has an incredible history. I want to help the team with my versatility in defense. I'm really looking forward to my new teammates and the fans at the Allianz Arena, which in my eyes is one of the best stadiums in the world."
