Corriere Della Sera have reported that the Magpies are lining up a move for the the 30-year-old, whose long-term future remains uncertain.

The forward's contract with Roma is due to expire next season and he is yet to be offered a new deal, fueling rumours of a possible departure.

The report claims that Dybala has an £11million release clause in his contract which can only be activated by teams outside of the Italian top-flight.

Newcastle are now said to be keen on the forward, but the club would need to sell players before brining in new additions to comply with Financial Fair Player rules.

Corriere Della Sera adds that Dybala's low release could tempt the Premier League side into making a move, but they would need to move fast as the clause expires on 15 January.

The Argentine forward remains a vital part of Mourinho's squad, having registered six goals and six assists across all competitions this season.
