Mofokeng breaks silence on Wolves assessment

Orlando Pirates starlet Relebhohle Mofokeng has opened up on his assessment with English Premier League side Wolverhampton and drawn comparisons with the level of the PSL.

The 19-year-old broke through Pirates' first team in the 22/23 campaign and has gone on to be somewhat of a key player for the Buccaneers, making 20 appearances across all competitions so far in the 23/24 season.

It was unsurprising when reports emerged that the teenager has been invited to a trial at Wolves.

Speaking to media at MultiChoice's Player Transition Programme on Monday, Mofokeng shed some light on his experience with the English side.

"It was a great experience, but there is not much of a difference," Mofokeng said, without revealing much about the results of his assessment.

"Yeah, we are just hoping for the best (in terms of a response from Wolves).

"It (shows) our country is not too far from the from the level of Premier League clubs. I feel like we must just do more, a bit more to get to that level. I will get there. Ja, I think I will get there."
