Two KwaZulu-Natal outfits are understood to be in pursuit of a Kaizer Chiefs midfielder whose deal with Amakhosi has entered the final six months.
Siyethemba Sithebe joined the Soweto Giants at the start of the 2022/23 with high expectations, having been a key figure for AmaZulu and breaking into the Bafana Bafana team in late 2020.

However, the investment has not yet yielded the most positive results for either club or player, with the dreadlocked central midfielder spending the majority of his second season at Chiefs either in the stands or injured.
The 31-year-old has made just one appearance this season from the 30 matches Chiefs have played across all competitions, a far cry from the 28 appearances he made in his debut season in an injury-riddled Amakhosi squad.
The recent signings of Edson Castillo and Sibongiseni Mthethwa, as well as the emergence of Samkelo Zwane have also not improved Sithebe's bid for increased playing time.
With his contract set to run out in June this year, and as first reported by Soccer Laduma, AmaZulu have expressed interest in the player's return.
Lamontville Golden Arrows are also understood to be making attempts to lure the industrious midfielder back to KwaZulu-Natal.
According to insiders, Arrows are aggressive in their pursuit but the AmaZulu hierarchy is also willing to let bygones be bygones, following Sithebe's less than graceful exit from the Durban-based club.

Usuthu chairman Sandile Zungu is looking to strengthen the club as Pablo Franco Martin makes a push for continental football, while Abafana Bes'thende are in need of reinforcements to help rediscover the form that had them on the heels of Mamelodi Sundowns at the start of the season.
Signing Sithebe on a free would be shrewd business from either of the two teams.
