'It makes things easier' - Kekana on Mvala partnership at Bafana

Bafana Bafana defender Grant Kekana has opened up on the centre-back partnership with fellow Sundowns star Mothobi Mvala as South Africa prepare for their last game of the AFCON group stage.

Bafana are putting in the final preparations for what will be a crucial encounter against Tunisia.

The Carthage Eagles will need a win to stand any chance of progressing from the group stages, while Bafana, will have to avoid the defeat.

A win for South Africa would guarantee passage to the knockout phase. Ahead of the encounter, Broos will also have a headache over the selection of the ideal the defensive pairing.

A 2-0 beating by Mali prompted the Belgian mento to make a switch at the back, with Kekana coming in for Siyanda Xulu in the second match against Namibia that ended in a 4-0 victory.

Speaking to media ahead of the match, Kekana explained how the familiarity of playing with Mvala helped marshal Bafana's first clean sheet at the AFCON.

"I think it makes it relatively easily [playing with Mvala] because it's someone I train with every single day," Kekana said via the SAFA media department.

"So the synergy is there. Even with Ronwen's leadership at the back. He is vey vocal, he communicates quite well.

"So yes, I think [against Mali] everything was set up the way it was suppose to on the day, we felt comfortable playing with each other because we are used to each other," he added.

The match between South Africa and Tunisia is scheduled to kick-off at 19:00.
