Having recently just cut ties with Mamelodi Sundowns, forward Gift Motupa has received his flowers from South African manager Pitso Mosimane. Here's a look!
The story
On 26 January, Sundowns confirmed the departure of the 29-year-old, ending their three-and-a-half-year association with the player.
The Limpopo-born star struggled to find his feet at Masandawana, as Transfermarkt indicates that he made a measly 22 appearances for the Brazilians since joining them the now defunct Bidvest Wits.
Now a free agent, the striker was recently spotted at SuperSport United, where he is reportedly trying to convince the club to tie him to a new contract.

Nevertheless, his difficulties on the pitch over the last few seasons have seemingly not translated into his personal life, as he has reportedly made massive strides as a business owner.
According to Football Stage on X, Motupa's business endeavors includes a football club in SAFA SAB League in Limpopo, as well as a 100-room student accommodation facility in Turfloop.
A report by FARPost suggest he bought an amateur club called Seshego Kings in 2022 and renamed it to Thogoaneng.
Through his charity organisation, the Gift Motupa Foundation, he donates essential good to those in need as well as host community tournament for under-privelleged youth.
These are remarkable steps given that his professional career went through a bit of dip and it shows a level of perseverance and dedication.
In South Africa, many players have been witnessed spiralling into depression as a result of not playing regularly, with some even disappearing into obscurity. However, Motupa has demonstrated an admirable resilience not only as a professional player but as a person and a leader of his community.
Mosimane, who has seemingly never coach Motupa at top-flight level, hailed the player for his achievements in life, as he commented on Football Stage post: The Abha Club boss said: "Proud of you my boy."
Proud of you my boy.??????
