Pirates' Nedbank Cup opponent confirmed

There has been an update on the strange case involving two Mpumalanga province clubs who were vying for a spot in the Nedbank Cup last 32.

ABC Motsepe League club Middelburg United FC and HollywoodBets side Crystal Lake FC played in a provincial play-off, where the latter managed to beat United 1-0.

But strangely Middelburg United protested about a physiotherapist that was sitting at their opponent's bench, claiming he was not who he claimed he was.

Middelburg appealed the initial decision on the matter after it was ruled to be non-compliant.

Unhappy with the decision, Middelburg took it further to the SAFA Arbitration and eventually came to a final decision yesterday.

News reaching KickOff says Orlando Pirates have finally learned who they will be facing in the Nedbank Cup last 32 following Friday's sitting.

It has now been confirmed that the defending champions will start their title defense against HollywoodBets Men's Regional League side Crystal Lake FC.

According to SAFA Mpumalanga secretary Bevan Mahlangu, the verdict has been communicated to him.

"The verdict is out," Mahlangu tells KickOff.

"The arbitration is dismissed with costs, meaning winners of that fixture Crystal Lake is going through.

"The reasons will follow after, because for now we were pushing to know who will be our province's representative against Orlando Pirates.

"For now the main thing is to know that Crystal Lake is going through, and it was dismissed with costs."
