Swallows confirm Komphela's departure

Moroka Swallows have confirmed the departure of coach Steve Komphela.

The Dube Birds resumed DStv Premiership action on the weekend without Komphela, as Musa Nyatama was in charge of the side's 2-0 loss to Polokwane City.

As it turns out, Komphela had already coached his final game for the club, as the two parties have now parted ways.

KickOff also recently reported the 56-year-old could make a return to fellow top-flight side Golden Arrows.

"Moroka Swallows FC and Coach Steve have agreed to a mutual separation. This comes after several discussions between both parties, where it was ultimately agreed that it would be in the best interest of both the Club and Coach Steve to separate at this stage," the team announced in statement.

"There remains a mutual respect between both parties and the decision to separate is one both parties have welcomed.

"The Club wishes Coach Steve all the best in his future endeavours, and we are grateful for the contributions he has made to the Club.

"Coach Steve has expressed gratitude to the Club and has wished us well."
