SuperSport United head coach Gavin Hunt strongly believes they were denied a clear penalty against Mamelodi Sundowns in the Tshwane Derby.
Matsatsantsa held the Brazilians to a 1-1 draw after Bradley Grobler cancelled out an opener by Teboho Mokoena.
Towards the end of the first stanza, Grobler went down under a challenge in the box and the referee waved play on.
According to Hunt, speaking at a press conference after the game, the incident was a clear penalty, as the veteran striker even had to go to the hospital with a shoulder problem after he did not return for the second half and was replaced by Terrence Dzvukamanja.
"I thought it was a penalty. It looked like a kick from behind. You just look at his shoulder, he has gone to the hospital. It didn't look good, so that's a huge blow because we don't have (strikers), we're struggling there. It's a huge blow for us," Hunt told reporters at Loftus Versfeld Stadium.
"How do you play in Africa with one striker? We can't. So, we had to rest him here. We never scored the chance we had, but we were brilliant in Africa. I mean, the experience we gained... But it has taken a lot out of us, travelling 22, 23 hours to some of these destinations, stop-overs and stuff like that. Hopefully it's gonna be tight at the end in the top three places," he said.
The former Kaizer Chiefs coach was also not pleased with a draw against the reigning champions, who came to the game with a 41-game unbeaten run in the league.
"I'm actually disappointed (with a draw), because I thought at times we didn't have the touch to get us out. Look at the last movement of the game, if he (Tendamudzimu Matodzi) stays onside, he's in on goal. That's just the experience, we need to learn. Frustrating. But I've been doing this for 30 years, you know what I mean," added Hunt.
Grobler scored his eighth goal in the league, and is now just two goals behind leading goal-scorer Lucas Ribeiro Costa of Sundowns, and his potential injury could also affect his chances in the Golden Boot race.
Hunt did not know yet the extent of the 36-year-old's injury straight after the game.
"I'll find out now what has happened," he said.
