Official: Statement issued after Tevez rushed to hospital

A statement has now been issued after former Manchester United and Manchester City star Carlos Tevez was rushed to hospital. 

The Argentine is currently the manager of Primera Division side Club Atletico Independiente, who confirmed that the coach was hospitalised on Tuesday after suffering from "chest pains".

"Our coach, Carlos Tevez, entered the La Trinidad Sanatorium in San Isidro with chest pain. They carried out the corresponding studies and they were satisfactory," the top flight side said in a statement on X. 

"Tomorrow, we will continue with a series of exams scheduled in advance as part of a general check-up that is usually carried out." 

It was also confirmed that the former United attacker will remain in the care of medical professionals "until the corresponding studies are completed".

Tevez, who also played for West Ham United in England, made 202 EPL appearances during his time in England, scoring 84 goals. He also represented Argentina 76 times, scoring 13 times
