South African footballer Siyabonga Ngezana has been the real football MVP this past weekend after grabbing all the headlines for his title Romanian celebrations, which started with him rocking a The Matrix-inspired outfit. Here's a look!
The story
Ngezana is currently enjoying the time of his life after his side FCSB were crowned 2023/24 Romanian SuperLiga champions. With celebrations made even more wholesome by the fact that it is the player's first-ever top-flight title, the former Kaizer Chiefs star was geared up for the big moment, as he was trending on X over the weekend partly due to his stylish outfit, comprising a long leather coat and cowboy boots.
The outfit looked almost like a scene from The Matrix movie, with the Sebokeng-native looking like somewhat of a Romanian-South African Keanu Reeves.

During the celebrations, Ngezana also paraded the field with the South African flag wrapped around his waist.
For many South Africans, it was a refreshing sight to see given that the SA flag has a huge topic in recent weeks after one of the major political parties made an advert burning the flag in their election promo video.
The 26-year-old has undoubtedly been one of the biggest success stories in 2023/24 alongside Bafana Bafana's third-place finish at the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations.
FCSB have one more game to go this season and after a short break, the Romanian side will return to pre-season to prepare for European football.
