Kaizer Chiefs head coach Cavin Johnson has provided a blunt assessment of where it has gone wrong for the team this season, as they find themselves battling to salvage a spot in the top eight in another trophy-bereft campaign.
Amakhos's Top Eight ambitions were met by a roadblock when they settled for a draw against AmaZulu FC on Sunday at Moses Mabhida Stadium.

Ashley Du Preez' opener was cancelled out by Victor Letsoalo's controversial goal late in the first half. Chiefs could not find a way past AmaZulu goalkeeper Veli Mothwa, who bagged the Man of the Match award, despite creating several clear goal-scoring opportunities.
Speaking to journalists after the game, Johnson gave an honest account of what his side has been lacking in recent matches, collecting just one win from their last five outings.
"It's been a work in progress for the last few games," a visibly disappointed Johnson said.
"We get the lead and we tend to give away soft goals in order for the play to come back at us and when that happens, we are not aggressive enough, we are not calm enough. We are not aggressive enough, we are not calm enough to maintain our lead and go forward and score goals to seal the game.
"We allow, like today you saw, the goal that was scored is offside initially, there should be a free-kick before the guy crosses the ball.

"But in saying that, we also switch off for one-and-a-half seconds and we give the player 2 metres to cross the ball.
"So, there's a lot of factors that we've got to work on, a lot of factors that we've got to show the team.
"But in saying that, when you go back and you say that it's an offside goal, then it (the scoreline) is not the reality of the football game and that does not put a good taste in your mouth, you draw now and you don't win the game.
The stalemate saw Chiefs slip back to eighth on the DStv Premiership standings with two matches left to play.
