Egyptian giants Al Ahly have reportedly requested double protection ahead of their CAF Champions League final, motivated by an incident that occurred under Pitso Mosimane.
The Red Devils will take on Esperance Sportive de Tunis in the final of this year's tournament, with the first leg scheduled to be played on Saturday, 18 May, and the return fixture set for 25 May.

Leading up to the encounter, however, the Marcel Koller-led side has submitted a major protection request to CAF, according to Ahly News.
This is believed to have come as a result of the club's experiences of violent incidents in matches against Esperance in previous editions of the tournament.
In 2021, the Club of the Century, under Mosimane, faced the Tunisians in the CAFCL semi-final and beat them 4-0 on aggregate.
The kick-off time for the first leg in Tunisia, however, was postponed by an hour after home fans clashed with police.

Another incident in 2018 saw Al Ahly's team bus come under attack ahead of the second leg of that edition's final against Esperance.
Opposition supporters reportedly targeted the Egyptian giants' bus with stones, leading to midfielder Hesham Mohamed suffering a head injury.
Red Devils president Mahmoud Al Khatib is thus said to have demanded that security for the players be beefed up for the upcoming competition decider.
