Kaizer Chiefs' interim coach Cavin Johnson has made a call for more respect to be given to the club's legend, Itumeleng Khune, whose contract with the Soweto giants is set enter its final month.
Amakhosi ended a humiliating season in disappointing fashion with a shock 2-0 defeat to already relegated Cape Town Spurs at DHL Stadium on Saturday.

While they will be looking to rebuild and pick up the pieces in a new season come August, for the veteran goalkeeper, it might have been the final curtain call on his playing days in a Chiefs shirt.
Speaking at the post-match press conference, Johnson revealed that he has been somewhat let down by the reception Khune has received.
"If you look at anywhere in the world, when a player has given 25 years to a particular club, and within that period, he won games, he won trophies, and saved their positions, then whatever he is getting now is not what have seen at other levels," said Johnson.
"At different levels, I've seen people stand up when they see a man like that. So, that's the status I look for Itu to have in the future; when he walks into a stadium, people stand up to greet him.
"We don't have that culture, unfortunately, in this country, but that makes you very proud to be a legend of the team you've given 25 years to."
Khune was honoured by the club for his 25 years of service ahead of the 0-0 draw against Polokwane City in their penultimate match of the season.

The 36-year-old won three league titles with the Glamour Boys and told SuperSport TV recently that he still intends to meet with the club's hierarchy to discuss the possibility of playing beyond the just-ended campaign.
