Cape Town City chasing AmaZulu sharpshooter

KickOff has learned that Cape Town City could pounce on Nigerian striker Augustine Kwem as they set the wheels of bolstering their squad for next season in motion.

City are currently on the lookout for a striker and have identified Kwem as one of the players who could solve their goal-scoring problems next season.

The 26-year-old made 23 appearances in all competitions and only managed to score seven goals for AmaZulu FC this past season.

He might have made his last official appearance for Usuthu when they lost 3-1 to KwaZulu-Natal rivals Golden Arrows at the Moses Mabhida Stadium on May 25.

According to sources close to AmaZulu, the club is willing to listen to offers for Kwem and there is a high possibility that he could move to the Citizens ahead of the 2024/25 campaign.

"A lot is happening behind the scenes," hinted a source.

"Kwem could be leaving AmaZulu at the end of this month. There is the possibility that he might be going to join Cape Town City next season," added the source.
