Richards Bay maintain top spot in play-offs

Richards Bay FC maintained top spot in PSL promotion/relegation play-offs table after a goalless draw against Baroka FC on Saturday afternoon.

Bakgaga dropped Baolefa Pule and stated Katlego Molefe with Kabelo Kgositsele restored too, while Sibusiso Mthethwa came in for Thabani Dube and Siyanda Dlamini filled in for Ntsako Makhubela.

The host didn't enjoy the dominant start but saw the Natal Rich Boys pulling clear repeatedly in which a speculative drive from the area by Moses Mthembu shaved the bottom-corner.

It remained promising for the visiting contingent who fashioned up yet another decent opportunity before the half-hour mark through Somila Ntsundwana.

Bakgaga began to find their way after the uneven opening and had Sekela Sithole go over following a loose pass on the cusp of the six-yard area.

There were no substitutions made by either side ahead of the second half, with the spell of play pretty even and evidently there for the taking.

Few chances came during the opening stages of the resumption before Siyabonga Mtombeni stormed through the channels and dragged over following a first-time pass.

At the same time, the Natal Rich Boys threw on a double substitution in Khuda Muyaba and Justice Figareido with Mthembu and Ntsundwana withdrawn.

However, not too much separated the two well ahead of the final exchanges with the path to goal very few and far pertaining the respective charges out on show.

Both teams continued to plug away as the time started to set in but the opening remained elusive and in the end left the spoils shared.

Confirmed line-ups:
