Pirates confirmed Marou's departure on Monday in a move that paves the way for him to join a club of his choice.
The 23-year-old leaves without having scored for the Soweto giants after struggling for minutes and ultimately losing his place in the Indomitable Lions squad.
He only played 150 minutes spread over nine appearances.
Marou joined Bucs after having been to the 2022 FIFA World Cup on the back of having excelled at Coton Sport and winning the 2022 Cameroon Footballer of the Year.
Unfortunately, his time at Pirates turned into a tragedy and this website has been told that Marou is disappointed with what happened in South Africa.
Marou reportedly had options in Europe prior to settling for Pirates, who paid a transfer of USD200 000 (approx. R3,6 million) to Coton Sport.
