Cape Town Spurs CEO Alexi Efstathiou has explained the reappointment of Ernst Middendorp as Cape Town Spurs head coach as the club prepares for life in the Motsepe Foundation Championship next season.
Spurs were relegated from the DStv Premiership last season after finishing bottom of the table.

Earlier this month, the club came to an agreement with the German for a parting of ways. However, things have since taken a turn as the veteran coach will now stay on for the upcoming campaign.
"As a club, we sat again and tried to iron out the issues that were there, and luckily we found a way forward," Efstathiou explains, speaking to KickOff.
"It was nothing serious enough that we weren't able to deal with," he says.
Efstathiou also shed some light on how they are going to find ways to deal with issues involving players that have already attracted interest elsewhere.
"If we are going to get offers that are strong enough, then we will consider. But we are not gonna give our players away.
"We want to keep a good team and challenge. Our deal with the coach is for this year [season] and possibly next year. There's an option. The mandate is promotion.
"The DNA of the club stays the same, but there's always different ways to do things. The main focus is to get young players and try to get them ready for the PSL or European action.
"But for this season, we are going to have a good balance. We need to have a team we believe will compete."

Seeing this will be the German's first gig in the second tier, Efstathiou lets out a giggle when asked about it by this publication, only saying, "We will soon find out if coach Ernst can coach in the Motsepe Foundation Championship, ha, ha."
