After failing to beat Bafana Bafana in the 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers, a certain African boss is now said to be at risk of losing his job in September if results don't improve.
Yet another round of CAF World Cup qualifiers was wrapped up on Tuesday, with nations set to resume their qualifying campaign next year in March.
For some countries, however, this recent round of fixtures left a lot to be desired, with one such example being the Nigeria national team.

The Super Eagles slumped to a 2-1 defeat at the hands of minnows Benin on Monday, a result that was preceded by a 1-1 draw against Bafana Bafana last Friday.
Worryingly, Nigeria now sit second from the bottom of Group C after picking up just three points from their first four qualifying matches.
As such, it is now said that the Nigerian Football Federation (NFF) are prepared to sack newly appointed manager Finidi George by September if he also fails to produce the goods during the 2025 African Cup of Nations qualifiers in September.

According to Nigeria Own Goal, a board member of the NFF said: "Even Finidi knows his future is tied to the game in September. He can't say we didn't give him the support he needed because he got everything but didn't make the best of it.
"He probably won't be here when the qualifiers for the World Cup resumes."
Asked how the NFF ended up appointing George as Jose Peseiro's permanent replacement in May, the board member explained: "We didn't interview anybody.
"The decision to appoint Finidi was taken by the president of the NFF and not even the technical committee recommended him.
"Nobody interviewed Finidi, that is why after it was after his announcement that terms were agreed for his release from Enyimba and his wages plus assistants."
The NFF official added: "Those who said there's no money for a foreign coach won't say so anymore now that we are in a precarious situation.
"Finidi is still the coach but I don't know for how long."
