Man City 'eyeing move' for Spain star

Manchester City are reportedly eyeing a move for a Spain star currently impressing at the 2024 European Championship.

Dani Olmo has been linked with a number of clubs in the last after impressing for both RB Leipzig and Spain.

According to Sky Sports Journalist Philipp Hinze, the Premier League champions have now turned their eye to the Spanish attacker ahead of the new season.

Pep Guardiola's charges are yet to bring in any new players but they have been linked with a few attacking midfielders in attempt to refresh the squad.

Olmo reportedly has a clause in his contract that would allow him to leave if a suitor can meet the €60million, which will active later this month.

The report from Sky Sports adds that the Bundesliga side are open to negotiations should the release clause not be activated.

The Citizens could face competition from Barcelona for Olmo's services, but the LaLiga side remain restricted by their current financial situation and would be unlikely to meet Olmo's release clause.

The 22-year-old has impressed for Spain at the European Championship and was named Man of the Match in the quarter-final win over host nation Germany on Friday night.

Olmo did speak on his future a day before the quarter-final clash.

"Hopefully we'll have to celebrate the title with our teammates and then we'll see what happens," the midfielder told Marca.

"You all know what's in my contract, so... I'm here, happy, content and trying to enjoy the experience to the fullest. Whatever happens at the club, we'll see."
