OFFICIAL: Chiefs confirm Nabi's technical team & contract details

Kaizer Chiefs have confirmed the club's new technical team ahead of the upcoming season, as well as more details surrounding the contract of new head coach Nasreddine Nabi.

While the signing of Nabi was announced on Sunday, Chiefs had remained mum on the exact identities of the new technical and the length of the former AS FAR coach's contract.

However, in a lengthy statement published on the side's website, the club revealed that Nabi would be serving on a two-year deal, with the option to add another year.

Meanwhile, the technical team will be comprised of Khalil Ben Youssef, who will serve as First assistant coach, with Fernando Da Cruz as Second assistant coach, Ilyes Mzoughi being Amakhosi's new Goalkeeping coach, and Safi Majdi, who will double as Strength and conditioning coach and assistant.

Nabi and his men have been hard at work with the team in Turkey ahead of several friendlies, before returning to South Africa to take on Young Africans in the Toyota Cup Bloemfontein on 28 July.

After that, they will have an even bigger mountain to climb in resurrecting a Chiefs side that finished an embarrassing 10th position in the league in 2023/24.

Nevertheless, club Sporting Director Kaizer Motaung Jr has thrown his support behind the Belgian-Tunisian and his technical team.

"We believe we have found the right man to fulfil our vision of restoring Amakhosi to our rightful place at the top of the football pyramid, and we welcome coach Nabi and his technical team with the pledge of unity and support in pursuit of our common goal," Motaung Jr told the club's website.
