A Real Madrid star has taken time out for a trip to Africa, and explained the role he is playing in helping the continent progress.

The one-time UEFA Champions League winner heaped much praise on the continent and explained that his attachment to it are because of his roots in one of its countries.
"I have many Senegalese friends who told me a lot of good things about the country. I hope to have time to go to Saly. Dakar is a superb city, in a magnificent country," he said per Wiwsport via Afrik-Foot.
"I am very attached to Africa because my roots are in Cameroon . I have always loved traveling to come to Africa. I have quite a few friends who told me that Senegal was a great country. And they are not wrong."
"I have also made investments here, which can allow the country to develop. I came to see where all this was at.
"I came to see the Senegalese youth to answer certain questions, to try to inspire them, and to give them the feeling that everything is possible in life, if we give ourselves the means."
The 24-year-old played an important role in the establishment of Prosperi Foundation which, much like him, places a focus on enhancing the lives of those on the continent.
He went on to explain what the organisation hopes to achieve in terms of its goals.
"The main goal of the endowment fund is to create opportunities," he said.
"To allow people who are in vulnerable situations or not, to have a better future.
"The three pillars are education, health and sport. From the moment we have people in need and who are part of these three pillars, we will have the opportunity to help."
