Another departure at Sundowns

Mamelodi Sundowns will tick yet another departure as the club continues to shuffle the names of those on their books ahead of the start of the new season.

The exit gate at Chloorkop has been busy since the end of last season with Junior Mendieta, Bongani Zungu, Thabiso Kutumela, Promise Mkhuma, Brian Onyango, Jerome Karelse and Gaston Sirino amongst the names that have already left.

Mendieta has moved to Greek Super League club Volos NPS, while Kutumela has switched to Richards Bay FC.

Themba Zwane and Denis Onyango's options have been renewed.

Last season, Sundowns used 42 players across all competitions that they played, inclusive of the CAF Champions League and African Football League.

The Brazilians had several players, who included Ricardo Goss, Etiosa Ighodaro and Thabang Sibanyoni, out on loan but have returned.

This website can now confirm that Angolan youth international Antonio Cacotila has also left.

Sundowns have chosen not to offer Cacotila a professional contract after he spent the past season on a development deal playing for the club's feeder team M Tigers in the ABC Motsepe League.

Cacotila – who plays as an attacking midfielder – was previously with Interclube in Angola and has played for Angola's U17 and U20 squads.

Two teams in the DStv Premiership have made enquiries, along with another Portuguese lower division club, with further options in Angola from Kabuscorp and Desportivo do Libolo.
