A product of the Matsatsantsa academy, the 19-year-old was actually announced by Club NXT, a reserve side for Brugge, which competes in the Challenger Pro League, Belgium's Second Division.

This website spoke to a scout who specializes with Belgian football to find out what motivates such a move and how competitive the Challenger Pro League is.

"In general, the Belgian teams use the second team or Second Division team to prepare players for the first team, so there is a real focus on having good players in most teams. So, the quality of the league is very high," the scout said.

"It's young players, players with great physical qualities, who are learning the tactical side of the game and preparing, so they can have an immediate impact on the first team.

"So, they will be looking for him to first get accustomed to the tactical systems of the club, understand a little bit the culture of the club, the style of play and everything else. And very quickly they will be hoping he excels and come through to the first team," said the scout, who works for a top-flight side in Belgium.

"I'd say, when a player is signed and comes to the second team, we're looking at getting them through that process as quickly as possible, to use that as a platform and make their way to the first team, so that they can have an impact."
