Rulani looks at home in first Wydad training

Rulani Mokwena is officially underway in Morocco as he hosted his first training session as Wydad Athletic Club manager.

The South African tactician was appointed as the new boss of the 13-time CAF Champions League winners earlier this month after parting ways with Mamelodi Sundowns.

He, however, could not jump straight into the thick of things due to players still being on their off-season breaks.

With the players having returned to training, Mokwena could finally have his first official session with them which is exactly what took place on Wednesday.

The former Orlando Pirates coach looked as though he was in his element, spending time on the tactics board seemingly parting his knowledge down to his new crop of players, giving out instructions and observing how they respond to it.

The response from the fans of the Botola Pro 1 side seemed very encouraging, with many taking to the comment section to express their admiration and support for their new manager.

"Nice work keep it up," says @ot8boy_wydad.

"Keep in mind the Wydad, this year will be a good one," says @ur_angeel.7.

"We got your back coach @coach_rulani," says @ismaileeek.

Reports suggest that the Red Castle will travel to Turkiye at the end of the month for their pre-season preparations and a first look – a tiny preview – of what Wydad fans can expect while the club is managed by Mokwena.
