The Nasreddine Nabi era at Kaizer Chiefs got off to a worst start, albeit in a friendly after a 4-0 crushing by Young Africans, and former goal machine Marks Maponyane has explained why Amakhosi's young team did not come to the party.
Nabi is said to be in favour of rebuilding Chiefs, with youngsters forming a big part of his plans and, indeed, the Belgian-Tunisian started with the likes of Samkelo Zwane, Mfundo Vilakazi and debutant Nkosana Mbuthu on the day.
However, the Glamour Boys were second-best in duels and in transitions against Yanga, going into the interval trailing 2-0.

The Soweto giants could not get their act together in the second stanza, as they ultimately lost 4-0 in the inaugural Toyota Cup.
Maponyane feels the time may not be right to introduce youngsters at Chiefs, with the team currently under pressure to produce results.
"Not enough, and I'll tell you why. It's because they were overwhelmed by the opposition. Even if they have the future, the problem is they are under pressure," Maponyane said on SABC Sport.
"Yes, they are their peers, but these are the peers that have seen it all and they are playing at a higher level."
Mbuthu, recently promoted from the reserve side, was exposed in an unfamiliar role at left-back, particularly in the first stanza.
The 19-year-old, however, showed glimpses of brilliance going forward, after he was pushed into a role he's familiar with, on the left wing.
The Amakhosi all-time leading goal-scorer commended Nabi for not taking out Mbuthu at half-time and gave his rating of the teenage left-footer.
"I like the fact that when Mbuthu was pushed forward, I saw that beautiful touch with the left foot, neat passes. It shows you that the coach knows something and it got him to just hang in there. Don't destroy him by taking him out straight away," added 'Go Man Go'.
